New Years Eve 2007 Jason was working, so I spent the evening at my friend Tara & John's house with the two kids and their daughter, Brooke. It was certainly a low key affair, but as usual enjoyed their company and conversation. These two keep a Book of Dreams, a "To-Do-Before-You-Die" list, if you will. They have their entire relationship's New Years Eve's lists in there. I was super impressed.
They also have a few friend's list of dreams from company they have had in the past, and that night they added a new page for me. In no particular order of achievement I put 1. Visit Egypt and 2. Run a half marathon I had 3. Grace the cover of a wedding magazine! Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that in less than two years I would be looking at the proof, and no it wasn't running a half marathon :-) I feel blessed beyond belief that I get to do what I love for a living, and now know that if you work hard good things will DEFIANTLY happen.
Waters Edge Weddings contacted Amy and asked if we had recently photographed a beach wedding. It couldn't have been better timing! We had just shot Brett & Michelle's Sawgrass Beach Club Wedding in Ponte Vedra Beach. Their wedding was truly out of a fairytale and knew it would be the right one for their publication. CLICK HERE to read their love story on Waters Edge's on-line version. They had said they were going to feature their story then a few weeks later we learned one of their images would grace the cover as well! My jaw hit the floor!
Thank you, Michelle & Brett for being such great clients throughout this process! What a cool memory and keep-sake for you guys to look back on. You are a beautiful couple and deserve all that life has to offer!
Also, I want to thank my Couture Weddings partner Amy Barry who shares in this achievement! Four years ago a friend of mine who booked Amy called me, following her newborn session, and said I had to give Amy a call! She thought we had a lot in common and that we could really hit it off. I had recently started my business and needed a friend in the industry desperately. Well, my friend was right and after sharing a studio and launching Couture Weddings, I know the importance not only of having good friends in this business, but having a trustworthy business partner as well. She is an amazing person and extremely talented photographer! Congratulations, Amy for yet another achievement! I love you.
Congratulations Ladies!!! You gals rock and totally deserve this honor. Excited to see what y'all accomplish next.
